What is Eagle Scout?
In Scouting, the eagle stands for strength of character, and for knowledge of all phases of Scouting. The eagle represents an understanding of community and nation, and a deep respect for same. The eagle is a symbol of what a young man has done as well as what that young man will do, and will be, when he grows to manhood. The eagle is a leader. The eagle is respected, both by his peers and by his adult leaders.
The Eagle Scout award is the highest award available to youth members of the Boy Scouts of America. It is a recognition by the National Court of Honor, presented through the local council and a local court of honor.
It represents many years of dedicated effort , and the successful completion of a long process which started when the young man became a Boy Scout. It is a demonstration of how people, working together, can truly help mold a young man with a solid sense of leadership, citizenship, and responsibility.
How do I use the site?
You can register as a Scout, Eagle Scout mentor, or an adult leader. Once you’ve joined, you can explore other users in the “Explore” tab and use our messaging system to connect with users you’re interested in. For example, as a Scout, you can explore mentors in the “Explore” tab and message them individually to connect. You can also access forums or create groups using their respective tabs. You can also access general-purpose resources related to the journey to Eagle Scout and Scouting under the “Resources” tab.
Why can’t I see “Explore”, “Groups”, “Forums” or “Events”?
You must register an account with us and be logged in to see these tabs.
How does this site benefit me?
If you’re a Scout, you can connect with Eagle Scout mentors and adult leaders to help you navigate your Eagle Scout journey. If you’re a volunteer mentor, you gain an opportunity to mentor the next generation of Eagles — future world leaders — and the experience of guiding others through the Eagle journey you’ve experienced, likely without the same support offered by this platform.
What does verification mean?
A verified account has been verified by our dedicated admin team and indicates that the account has been throughout vetted and is certified as a Scout/mentor/adult leader.
How can I use “Explore”, “Forum”, and “Groups”?
The Explore tab will display the profiles of all users on Soar To Eagle who have not hidden their profile from public directories. You can search specific users, or use custom sorting or custom filtering (by troop, city, state, etc.) to search for other users on the platform. The tab also displays a map of all users who have their location updated in their profile.
The Forums tab offers a forum system for the site, where anyone can create new topics inside predefined forums. These forums can be used for things such as site-wide discussion, bug reporting, feature requests, etc. If you would like to see a new forum created, please contact us.
The Groups tab offers the site’s Groups system, where anyone can create a Group — for example, you may choose to create a Group for your troop or your specific city, state council, etc. Groups integrate fully with messaging and allow for users to interact in a structured manner.
